The perfect homecoming

“My mother was an amazing cook and she was known for her sauce, so when I started my family I wanted to make my own sauce. I’d tried many canned tomatoes, then finally found Tuttorosso. My husband and I have raised 5 children and every special dinner choice is ‘Mom's Sauce.’ Two of our sons have joined the military and every time they get home from leave, ‘Mom’s Sauce’ is waiting for them.”

“About 15 years ago I wanted to do something special for Martin Luther King Jr. Day with my family and close friends. It was before his birthday was recognized as a national holiday, so I requested it off from work and made a huge pan of lasagna using Tuttorosso tomatoes and sauce, a big salad, and plenty of garlic bread. We all sat around, eating, playing cards, listening to music, and talking about the good old days.”

“Gravy or ‘Basta’ was a Sunday tradition in my family. My Grandma and Grandpa would take turns making it. The whole family would come over. My Grandma would get worried there wouldn’t be any left for the pasta since everyone would make gravy bread before it was done. You’d hear her complain when the meatballs, sausage and neck bones were no longer covered by the sauce. I grew up in my Grandma and Grandpas house and learned how to cook from the best. That included what brands were the best to use. It’s no surprise Tuttorosso topped their list for canned tomatoes. They got a kick out of telling people the tomatoes have been around since 1929, which is the year each of them was born. My Grandparents have since passed on but my family continues the tradition of getting together on Sundays and enjoying a pot of gravy. What better way to celebrate than with good food and good company.”
